A tourist, language is spoken in this topic, and two accents are presented. A receptionist speaks with Received Pronunciation that is heard on British radio and TV, and amongst educated people. A girl speaks with a Spanish accent-Before listening the students read and fill in a questionnaire. It presents them with the language and the subject of the listening. In pairs they compare and discuss their answers.

Before listening
The first tasks introduce to the subject of listening and to possibly unknown vocabulary, which is important for understanding the listening. These tasks require student's work together.
Part A. Listening Activities
Listening for details is introduced in a form of a radio tourist service programme. The tape gives the information about:
a) traditional and folklore events;
c) exhibitions;
d) sports events;
e) concerts and theatre;
g) where to eat.
Part B. Jigsaw Listening
a) Divide your students into three groups. Each group should listen to the radio programme trying to make notes in the boxes about the main details (activity, time, duration, place) of what is on in the cities in:
group 1: Rotterdam, Geneva, Stuttgart
group 2: Amsterdam, Brussels
group 3: Paris, Weisbaden
b) Redistribute the students making new groups so that every new group consisted of the students from every previous group. In their new groups the students exchange information, trying to fill in all empty boxes.
